Grand Rapids Man Sentenced for Threats Against President Trump

A Grand Rapids man was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison on Monday for making threats earlier this year to kill President Trump.

Richard James Spring of Comstock Park was indicted earlier this year on four felony counts after writing on social media, “I promise I will make sure he is assassinated before his first f------ year,” Spring also vowed to rape a family member in front of Trump in his threats.

Spring is the second Grand Rapids resident to be charged in federal court for threatening Trump this year.. You can read more on the indictment here.

List: Five Unique Pumpkin Patches in Michigan

A new list ranked five of the most unique pumpkin patches across Michigan, where you can enjoy crisp apple cider, go on a hayride, explore hand-made artisan gifts, and of course, pick some pumpkins.

Pinckney’s Chambers Family Farm led the list, offering a small farm market with baked goods, hand-crafted items, plentiful farm activities, and a corn maze.

Grand Rapids-based Ed Dunneback and Girls Farm also made the list, offering a full day of fun, including a giant slide, hayrides, a corn maze, and low-priced pumpkins.

Michigan Gas Prices Hit Lowest Level Since 2021

Statewide gas prices continued to fall to an average of $2.79 per gallon on Monday according to AAA, the lowest average price in Michigan since 2021.

Gas prices have been falling due to an increase in oil production from OPEC+, a global production alliance that sells oil to the United States.

Grand Rapids led Michigan cities for the lowest gas price at $2.69, with the most expensive gallon of gas in Ann Arbor at an average of $2.93.
