DTE Seeks Another Rate Hike For 2027
Just five days after receiving a $242 million rate hike, DTE Energy filed to seek another rate hike taking effect in 2027.
DTE’s fourth rate hike in five years was approved last week after the company sought $574 million increase from ratepayers.
Attorney General Dana Nessel expressed frustration with the company’s move in a statement on Friday.
DTE did not state the amount they are seeking in the rate case. You can see DTE’s full filing for the increase here.
Michiganders React to Iran Strike
Residents and lawmakers across the state reacted to President Trump’s strike on Iran over this weekend, with sentiments largely split along party lines.
Most Republican leaders supported President Trump’s strike that took out Iran’s supreme leader, while Democrats objected to the move, citing a lack of congressional approval.
The reactions followed news Sunday that three U.S. soldiers were killed as part of Iran’s retaliation on the strike.
What do you think about the mission? Let us know in today’s poll below ⬇️
Total Lunar Eclipse Set To Hit Michigan
Early tomorrow morning, Michiganders will be able to see a total lunar eclipse for the last time until 2029.
A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth, Moon, and Sun line up with Earth in the middle, and sunlight filtered through Earth’s atmosphere scatters and bends into the shadow, making the Moon appear blood red.
The phenomenon will be visible for most of Michigan from 6:00 to 6:40 a.m. tomorrow morning.
You can see video of a total lunar eclipse here.

How would you rate your fellow Michigan drivers? 🚗
Great - 2%
Average - 55%
Terrible - 28%
Better than Ohio - 15%
Answer: Better than Ohio, “You can always identify a driver from Ohio as they always slow down when their foot falls back when they go up a hill and they speed up when going downhill as their foot falls forward.”
Answer: Terrible, “Once public schools dropped Drivers Education and turned it over to private companies, the necessary skills required to safely navigated our pothole-filled roads disappeared. Just look at how drivers treat roundabouts! Cars run stop signs, cruise around turn-on-red lights without stopping, and can’t seem to stay between the lines. ”
