Michigan Towns Named in Top Winter Destinations
Two Michigan cities were named in the top 32 cold weather destinations in a new survey from WalletHub.
Grand Rapids was the higher-ranked of the two Michigan cities at No. 26, and was named the fourth-best city for local cost, and the tenth-safest city on the list. Detroit also made the list at No. 29, thanks to its low travel cost rating.
Cities in the list were rated based upon multiple criteria. You can see the full list and methodology used by WalletHub here.
Sewing Needle Found in Halloween Candy
A parent’s worst fear—finding needles in their child’s trick-or-treat goodies—came true in Wayne County this weekend.
Canton police are investigating a sewing needle that was discovered partially protruding from a piece of candy collected near Saltz and Sheldon roads.
Investigators said the incident appears to be isolated, but are urging parents to ensure their child’s candy is thoroughly inspected before being eaten.

FBI Thwarts Dearborn-Based Halloween Terror Attack
FBI Director Kash Patel announced multiple people were arrested as part of a terror attack plot that was planned to take place on Halloween.
Multiple people near Fordson High School in Dearborn reported witnessing police cars and individuals with “FBI” on their clothes entering and exiting a house.
Investigators believe the planned attack was inspired by Islamic State extremism and are probing whether those arrested were radicalized online. Those involved in planning the attack allegedly communicated the plans in an online chatroom.
