✈️ Flight Delays Expected At Detroit Metro

Reductions in flights from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are set to begin today at 40 high-traffic airports nationwide, including Detroit Metro Airport.

The directive from the FAA requires airlines to reduce their flight capacity by 10%, potentially affecting thousands of Michiganders’ iteneraries.

Delta Airlines, one of Detroit Metro’s largest airlines, announced any cancellations will be communicated at least 24 hours in advance. Multiple airlines are also offering customers increased flexibility, including changing pr canceling flights without penalty.

Flights will continue to be affected until the government shutdown—which is now the longest in history—comes to an end. You can see the total number of flight delays at DTW here.

🍺 Traverse City Beer Week Kicks Off

More than two dozen breweries and taprooms are kicking off the city’s beer week today, offering special events, discounts, theme days, and prizes.

Each day of Beer Week 2025 will feature a unique theme centered around different beer varietals or flavors, and will run until Sunday, November 15th. Friday’s theme is PILSNER PARTY.

🏡 Michigan Has 11 of Best 100 Retirement Towns

A new report from U.S. News and World Report ranked 11 Michigan towns in the 100-best retirement towns, including the No. 1 overall spot in the country. 

Midland was ranked the No. 1 overall spot to retire according to the report due to its low level of traffic, high median income, and low median home prices.

Rochester Hills and Troy were ranked No’s. 14 and 15, with Farmington Hills, Wyoming, and Livonia rounding out the top 50, ranking No. 31, 41, and 47.

The towns were ranked based on quality of life, tax rates, senior population and migration trends, and health care quality. You can see the full rankings here.
