📈 DTE Energy Seeks $163 Million Rate Hike
The state’s second-largest natural gas provider is proposing a $163 million rate hike on consumers—which comes out to roughly a 7.9% increase on monthly energy bills.
The rate increase, which is roughly 3.5 times larger than last year’s 2.2% increase, will go toward better safety and reliability according to DTE.
If approved, the rate increase would result in an increase of about $6 per month for Michigan customers.

⚖️ Three Dearborn Men Federally Indicted in Terror Plot
The three Dearborn men involved in allegedly planning a Halloween terror attack were formally indicted by a federal grand jury on Thursday.
Mohmed Ali, Majed Mahmoud, and Ayob Nasser were all named in a federal indictment alleging they conspired to provide material support and resources to ISIS for attacks at clubs in Ferndale and Ohio’s Cedar Point amusement park.

⛸️ $11.3 Million Holland Ice Rink Opens
The City of Holland is opening its $11.3 million ice rink tonight that features a 14,000-foot ice skating ribbon, a curling rink, fire pits, and concessions.
The rink’s ice ribbon is 700 feet long, winding around multiple curves and widening to an open-skate 75-foot semi-circle.
Over 1,500 tickets have already been sold for the rink’s inaugural season. Sessions run in 90-minute timeslots, with ice skates available to rent for $10.
