Ten thousand residents in Southeast Michigan experienced power outages through Tuesday evening following severe thunderstorms that brought winds over 50 miles-per-hour and marble-sized hail.
An unsettled weather pattern moved into the state this weekend, creating the conditions for severe weather on Tuesday. Showers are expected to continue through Wednesday for much of Metro Detroit, but no further severe weather is expected.

Michigan Senate Passes Hunting and Fishing Fee Hikes
The Michigan Senate voted on Tuesday to increase hunting and fishing licensing fees to generate $29 million in additional revenue for the state’s Game and Fish Protection Fund.
The licensing fee updates are structured in two bills, Senate Bills 276 and 277, which passed the chamber by ten and eight votes, respectively.
The bills now head to the house, where they will likely face opposition from Republican House Speaker Matt Hall. Hall previously stated, “One thing we’re never going to have is increases in our hunting and fishing fees,”
The bills contain several fee increases ranging from five dollars to more than one hundred dollars. You can see a list of all proposed fee increases here.
